There are weddings that look beautiful, and then there are weddings that feel beautiful — the kind where every single moment is alive with laughter, tears, and pure joy. Ellie and Ryan Bailey’s wedding at Thornton Hall Hotel & Spa on the Wirral on 1st November 2025 was absolutely the latter.
From the very first getting-ready moments to that breathtaking late-night kiss under the illuminated gazebo, this day had everything. And yes — there was a very dapper dog involved. 🐶
The morning began with Ellie and her bridal party getting ready in the elegant surroundings of Thornton Hall. Ellie’s gown — a stunning ivory satin ball gown with a sweeping train and delicate square neckline — set the tone for the whole day: classic, sophisticated, and utterly romantic.

The excitement in the room was palpable — bridesmaids buzzing around, champagne glasses clinking, and one very emotional bridesmaid who absolutely lost it the moment Ellie stepped into her dress. One of my favourite moments to capture — that pure, unfiltered reaction when someone you love looks like that.

Then came one of those moments that makes wedding photography so special — Ellie’s dad seeing her for the very first time. The quiet grip of hands through the doorway said everything words couldn’t.

Thornton Hall’s ceremony room is something else — those gorgeous gold chandelier clusters, white blossom trees flanking the altar, and floor-length windows flooding the room with natural light. It’s one of the most beautiful ceremony spaces on the Wirral, and Ellie and Ryan’s wedding made full use of every inch of it.

Ryan’s face as Ellie walked towards him was everything. He held it together — just about — but those eyes told a different story.

The moment they were pronounced husband and wife, the room erupted. Walking back down that aisle together, hand in hand, with their guests cheering all around them — pure magic.

Outside in the Thornton Hall gardens, guests lined up for the confetti throw — and it was absolutely glorious. White petals flying everywhere, autumn colours in the trees behind, and two people completely lost in the moment.

Then came the portrait session — and the star of the show made his entrance. Ellie and Ryan’s cockapoo, dressed in his very own little blue outfit, was an absolute natural in front of the camera. I mean, honestly, he might have stolen the show.

The reception at Thornton Hall was everything you’d want — glamorous, warm, and full of laughter. Ellie and Ryan walked into the room to an incredible reception from their guests, and the evening just kept getting better from there.

The cake — a stunning two-tier blush buttercream creation topped with a wooden Mr & Mrs Bailey topper — was a real centrepiece of the room. Beautiful and elegant, just like the day itself.

The speeches were a real highlight. Ellie surprised everyone by giving her own speech — confident, heartfelt, and clearly very funny judging by Ryan’s face. Ryan’s speech had Ellie looking up at him with that look — you know the one.

As the evening settled in, we slipped outside for some night portraits at the illuminated iron gazebo — and the results were simply stunning. Two silhouettes, a kiss, and fairy lights all around. This is one of those shots that needs no caption.

Back inside, the cake cutting brought plenty of smiles — those light-up MR & MRS letters glowing behind them — and then came the first dance. The whole room watched as Ellie and Ryan shared their first moments as husband and wife on the dancefloor, and it was everything.

Ellie and Ryan — thank you so much for having us along to capture your day. It was an absolute privilege, and these images are going to make you smile for a very long time.
