Sarah was born on the Wirral and grew up in Wallasey, while Stu moved to Heswall when he was 10 years old, a relative newcomer. Since 2006 we’ve been living in the village of Irby in the centre of the Wirral. Our kids Lucy and Tom go to the local schools in Wesk Kirby and Caldy. So as wedding photographers go, we’re very much Wirral based, it’s a place that we love and a great place to get married.
Wirral Wedding Photography – There are some awsome wedding venues around here, and we’ve worked in just about all of them. Here’s a selection of some of the great weddings we’ve photographed on the Wirral over the last few years:
Inglewood Manor is one of the most popular and prestigious wedding venues in the area. Recently acquired by the Boutique Hotels Group, the same team that runs Peckforton Castle and Nunsmere Hall (two of Cheshire’s most high-end wedding venues), we expect some interesting developments over the next couple of years.
Inglewood is an excellent choice year round, combining very extensive and picturesque grounds, as well as a stunning interior. Here’s an image from Sam and Chris’s Autumn wedding from 2018:
A 4 Star hotel set in the picturesque village of Thornton Hough, Thornton Hall has always been one of the most popular wedding venues on the Wirral. The team at Thornton Hall have decades of experience to draw on, and their aim is to help tailor your day to suit your needs. Highlights include the beautiful gardens overlooking the Wirral countryside, and the range of suites available to suit small intimate weddings as well as celebrations of up to 500 guests.
Being only a couple of miles from home, we’ve photographed and filmed dozens of wedding at Thornton Hall over the years, and it’s always a pleasure to go back there. Here’s an evening portrait photograph from Michelle & Karl’s wedding from back in 2016:
Crabwall Manor Hotel is a hidden gem set back from Parkgate Road (between Heswall and Chester). The manor house dates back to the 17th century, and is now a luxurious hotel and exclusive wedding venue. Although the manor house is very old, a modern conservatory room has been built for use for wedding receptions. It’s a beautiful airy space. In addition, the hotel has recently undergone a major refurbishment, adding a brand new outdoor licensed wedding space. Here’s an image from Jenny & Adam’s wedding in 2015:
Craxton Wood is just a couple of minutes down the road from Crabwall Manor. A luxurious 4 Star hotel with beautiful grounds and a large grass area ideal for relaxing at summer weddings. The highlight is the Craxton Suite, a very spacious self contained facility giving you and your guests an exclusive area apart from the rest of the hotel.

Wirral Wedding Photographer – The Riverhill Hotel is a small privately-owned venue where you are assured a warm welcome from both the proprieters and their staff. Situated in its own grounds in the quiet residential location of Oxton. I would describe Riverhill as a relatively small hotel, and quite traditional, but very pleasant and well run. Ideal for wirral weddings up to 70 daytime guests and especially for smaller more intimate celebrations, like Sue and Graham’s wedding.
